OUR GUIDELINES

Booking and Payment
  • If we are not unable to provide houseboats on a given day, we will arrange another houseboat of the same category, with the exception of holidays such as Christmas, Diwali, and Pooja holidays. 
  • We only refund your maximum advance payment and also, we don’t have the burden of liabilities other than the advance, if we are unable to arrange any houseboats, due to the unavailability of houseboats in peak holidays.
  • Only adults (18+) can book a houseboat. 
  • Every time, when you leave the boat, make sure that you get hold of your belongings, as we are not responsible for lost items.
  • Here, on the boat, cooking by guests is not allowed. If you need more food, please pay the additional costs and pay the staff before you leave.
  • During your visit, behave yourself respectfully. Unruly behaviour will be notified to the authorities. 
  • Before disembarking, guests should make sure that they have not caused any damage to the houseboat, and please compensate for that damage.
  • On certain houseboats, there may be an additional 200 INR per person fee for foreign visitors to file C-Forms.
  • For your own safety, follow the crew’s instructions while check-in/out, cruising, anchoring, and docking.
  • Prior to disembarkation, any unexpected expenses must be settled directly by the crew.
  • To prevent misunderstanding booking agencies, travel operators must explain these terms and conditions 
  • In order to make a booking, you have to send an email, with one or two images or the boat code, if you have any houseboat pictures that you have collected from our executives. If not, there’s a possibility that the boat will be substituted upon check-in because we have several houseboats in the same class. 
  • The customer is responsible for making sure that the photos shown by travel agents/tour operators accurately represent the boats that BookmyBoat operates. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in this regard. 
  • We disclaim all responsibilities for any loss, harm, or damage resulting from events outside of our control.
  • Please obtain your own travel insurance since we do not have any insurance for you. You bear all risk for your belongings.
  • All passengers are required to present a valid RTPCR test report (taken within 72 hours of check-in) or a vaccination certificate upon boarding due to Covid-19.
  •  Prior to travelling to Kerala, all visitors—both local and foreign—must register on the Kerala Govt. Covid19 Jagratha Portal.
During Your Stay
  •  A 21-hour houseboat stay starts at 12 noon Check-in and 9 am Check-out. 
  • There is a set menu for meals, with taxes included. The only times when AC runs are from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (unless otherwise specified).
  • Because of government regulations, the houseboat will be anchored from 5 pm to 6 am.
  • Food will be served only in the dining area, It is not allowed to have food in bedrooms or other areas.
  • If the AC malfunctions, your stay will be extended on non-AC terms, with a maximum compensation of Rs 1000.
  • For the safety of the guests, our staff will be available at your service at the front area and upper deck at night.
  • With a one-hour lunch break, the cruise hours are 8 a.m. to 9 a.m, and 12 noon to 5 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. Day trips are scheduled and dependent on the weather.
  • All attendees aged 21, and above are permitted to consume alcohol; soft drinks and other mild beverages must be paid for in-person.
After Your Stay
  • Any disputes will be handled by the Vaikom courts only.
General Information
  • If there is a technical issue with the boat you have booked, we will offer a similar alternate boat. Charges might be incurred (except for upper deck vs. non-upper deck), if a downgrade is necessary.
Adult & Child Policy
  •  Children under five stay complimentary and share food with parents (no additional food, fish, coconut, or plates provided). There can only be one child per room.
  • Children who turn 12 years old are considered adults and pay an extra person charge (Rs 500-Rs 3,500) for a mattress and extra food.
CANCELLATION POLICY

For cancellation requests, the customer should communicate through email to bookmyluxuryboat@gmail.com. We don’t accept cancellations through WhatsApp, Facebook, messages, or phone calls. Refunds are undertaken and processed within two weeks of the cancellation email being received.The refund process starts at that point.

Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure

Cancellations must be made in writing, and charges start to apply from the day your cancellation request is received. 
Cash payments are refunded by cheque or bank transfer, and online bookings might take up to 45 business days to process. 
Credit/debit card or PayPal cancellations may incur a fee ranging from 5% to 13%.
A fixed cancellation fee of ₹500 applies.

Cancellation charges are as follows:
  1. 15 to 10 days prior to arrival: 10% of the tour/service cost 
  2. 09 to 04 days prior to arrival: 15% of the tour/service cost
  3. No refund for cancellations made 03 to 00 days prior to arrival or once the tour/service has started.
Special Cases
  • Strike: A full refund or a rescheduling to an available date is provided in case of a labour or owner strike.
  • Natural Calamities:  Except during peak season, rescheduling is allowed for natural calamities, up to 90% of the advance payment is refunded, subject to bank charges. Through email, the customer should communicate at least 3 days prior to check-in.
  • COVID-19 and CORONA Positive: With proof of COVID-19 positive results and a valid government ID, rescheduling or cancellation is permitted. The processing of refunds takes 20 working days.
Amendments to Reservations
  • Reservation amendments can be made as long as they are made at least ten days before check-in. Amendments cannot be made within the six days leading up to check-in.
  • Up to the boat’s maximum capacity, more passengers can be accommodated on day cruise houseboats for an additional charge.
  • Amendments are dependent upon availability and rate. It is advised to make a new booking, if the same houseboat or rate is unavailable.
  • There is no option for amendments or reschedules, once a reservation is rescheduled. [The full advance amount will be considered as Cancelation fees (No Refund)]. No Cancellation refunds or Amendment for the bookings–Navaratri Days, Pooja Holidays, Diwali Days Bookings & 20th December to 10th January Bookings.

Policy for Children Staying in Our Houseboats

We value your family holiday and try to make it as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. We have some guidelines for parents regarding children, staying in our houseboat rooms just to make sure. Please consider these for a moment:

1. Children Ages 0-5 Years (Kids):

  • Complimentary stay and food for one child below 5 years old when accompanied by parents.
  • Only one child is permitted per room.

2. Children Ages 5-11 Years (Child):

  • There is an extra charge of Rs. 750-1500 for kids five to eleven years old.
  • Children in this age group will share bed space with parents.

3. Children Ages 12 Years and Above (Adult):

  • Children who become 12 years old or older will be considered as extra persons.
  • Depending on the houseboat, an additional cost of Rs. 750–2000 would be charged for food and an extra mattress.
  • If your children are under 5 years, they can stay in the same room as long as they are using the existing mattress.
  • More facilities can be availed by paying additional fees, with amenities like separate food, toiletries, or towels for kids.
  • If your group has more members, and they are in need of extra mattresses, we can arrange one more mattress, that too is subject to availability.
  • Children should always be taken care of by parents, when on the houseboat property for safety reasons.
  • Be attentive to children, so that they don’t harm or damage the place, and show consideration to fellow visitors.
  • Along the booking process, feel free to contact Bookmyboat’s reservation team, as you can ask questions about amenities during the stay or cancellation policies.
  • For reservations made on behalf of someone else, the information is used solely for confirmation or delivery purposes, with stringent measures in place to protect privacy.
  • Email correspondence is exclusively utilized for responding to inquiries, with no sharing of addresses with external parties.
  • Data Security Measures: We prioritize data security, employing robust physical, electronic, and managerial protocols to thwart unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure proper information utilization.
